Assim, existem vinhos caros, Maseratis, alta-costura. Há um cara que quer reverter isso.

Grande reportagem do New York Times sobre o assunto.

Sir Jackie Stewart, o mestre

Senna Mania!
Posted by Brad Spurgeon in Drivers, Other racing series

It was an absolute zoo after the GP2 race in Barcelona today as Bruno Senna, Ayrton’s nephew, won the race in only his third GP2 race and with not quite three years of car racing behind him. He moves to third place in the series, which is a Formula One support race, and a final stepping stone to the highest level of racing. I wrote a little about Bruno after the first GP2 race in Bahrain, so I thought I should continue with the theme. In fact, I could not avoid the theme this time.

No sooner did Senna, 23, cross the finish line than a large number of the journalists in the paddock who were working on post-qualifying and other stories ceased their work, ran down to the track and waited underneath the victory podium for Senna to appear. It was a huge moment. Following the victory ceremonies, a group of television, radio and print media journalists from publications around the world - I saw Brazilians, French, Italian, Japanese, just about every nationality here - crowd around the young Senna fighting for room to get their microphones and cameras in close enough for the interview.

It was like Beatlemania. Standing off the side and holding onto his helmet and waiting for him to share the moment with her was Bruno’s sister Bianca. Holding that Senna helmet.

I had in fact watched the last laps of the race in the media center talking to Murray Walker. With four laps left in the race, I asked him how he felt about a Senna being about to win a race on a Grand Prix weekend again. He cited that same thing I did at the last race about how Ayrton Senna had said something to the effect that if you thought he was good, wait until you see his nephew. Walker then said he hoped that Bruno Senna would make it into F1, that it would be great for the sport.

Now to the race: This victory was real. This was not show business. Senna started sixth on the grid. At the start of the race, the No. 2 car had a problem and the race had to be restarted on the next lap. That meant Senna had moved to fifth, as the No. 2 dropped back. The race started again and Senna passed a couple of cars. Then there was a big accident - with no one injured - and many of the cars pulled into the pits and did the obligatory pit stop. But some of the cars did not. Slowly Senna found himself in fourth position, but the three cars ahead of him had not stopped for a pit stop. Eventually, there was only one car ahead of him, that of Timo Glock, who now leads the series. When Glock, with 11 laps left in the race made his pit stop, he returned to the track behind Senna. That was it.

Som do Apocalipse

Sinistro.
